My story
From plant manager to full-time retiree — and everything nobody warned me about.
Retirement isn’t a math problem. It’s an identity problem with a math prerequisite.

For 32 years I was a manufacturing leader in a Fortune 200 company — engineer, department manager, plant manager, and a global consultant serving 31 plants across eight countries. I was good at my job. I had no idea who I’d be without it.
In 2019, at 54, I chose to find out. The spreadsheets said I was ready; the transition still surprised me — emotionally, socially, financially. So I started documenting all of it: the fears, the mistakes, the wins. When I take Social Security. How I invest for safety and growth. How I protect against a bad market. What I had to rebuild that money couldn’t buy.
Seven years and a thousand videos later, that honest record has become one of the most trusted retirement channels on YouTube. I’m not a financial advisor and I don’t pretend to be — I’m the guy a few years ahead of you on the trail, turning around to tell you where the loose rocks are.
